Where God is

I started reading Mark Batterson's second book called, "Wild Goose Chase." It's pretty good. It's an easy read, but I'm taking my time. His writing challenges and encourages me. I'm really enjoying this book.

Anyway, here's a paragraph that made me just say, "I love it! I'll keep my eyes open more often."

'Jewish scholars used to debate why God appeared to Moses in a burning bush. A thunderclap or lightening bolt would have been more impressive. And why the far side of the desert? They concluded that God appeared to Moses in a burning bush to show that no place is devoid of God's presence, not even a bush on the backside of the desert. One more name for God in rabbinical literature is The Place. God is here, there, and everywhere. So it doesn't matter where you are. You can be sitting in rush-hour traffic, working at your desk, or lying on your sofa. God can show up anytime, anyplace.' - pp. 46-47

Isn't that amazing?! Even as you read this blog, live a wild lifestyle, run far from Him, or get covered up in responsibilities - God can get our attention. My prayer is, open the eyes of my heart to hear the inaudible yet unmistakable voice of God.
